A reason for it, why my versions of Buttercup and Trixie Tang are lesbian, (more personally and story reason):
Personal reason:
I am a fan of romantic Cartoon pictures, and imagine therefore gladly some romantic relations out (see Toonlovers1 and 2). However it was to be found not simply a good mating for Trixie Tang and Buttercup.
Trixie is rich, but has actually somewhere nevertheless a good heart. Therefore I did not want a mating with Tad and Chad, or these yielded Remy Buxaplenty.
However am I for a relationship between Timmy Turner and Tootie, therefore Timmy was unfortunately also no possibility.
With Buttercup it was even still more difficult, since it is in my opinion not the type for a mating with a boy. And it was to be found so already heavily someone to suitable.
Story reason (to 95% invented):
Buttercup:
Buttercups first relationship with Ace was already a flop.
And all following was not better also. When Buttecup went to the Megaville Elementary (Bleedman fan to know which I mean), began a short relationship with Zim (Invader Zim). Zim wanted to use their superpowers for its world army shank in truth actually only.
But Zim did not know that Ed (Ed, Edd n Eddy) was secretly with Buttercup in love. So comb it to the fight between the two, whereby Buttercup experienced the truth about Zim. Since then Buttercup began no more relationship with boys.
That could be done so long that she began sometime to develop an interest in girls.
Trixie Tang:
After many try from Timmy Turner to impress Trixie. Trixie had developed really secret feelings for Timmy.
However Trixie had the same feelings for someone else: Timantha (in reality Timmy Turner in the episode “The Boy who would be queen”).
Timantha was for Trixie a correct friend, but Timantha unfortunately never dipped.
By these strange feelings thus also Trixie developed an interest in girls (briefly said: It is Timmys debt).
Therefore it began a relationship with Buttercup, when it likewise came to Megaville.
My English is not so good, but I hope that avowedly as I came on this idea.
And that the story reason also understandably works.

1) Just because a girl has a had time with boys does not mean she atocamly becomes a lesbien,my mom is living proof of that too,she had 2 horrible men in her life but still attrative to the oppersite sex.
2) in teen ager years people are gonna be confussed about their sexitality,I dont think it'll just be a walk in the park for someone to fall in love.
and 3) This more about your personal view of them then their actrlel charaters, for one Buttercup never meets Zim in PPGD (yet at lest) and just because a girl has close bond with another girl dosent mean she in love with her,maby she thinks of her as a sister or such.
Ok,I know this is your own toonvise and whatnot,but I think you just went a little ooc,but I love this pairng still I just needed that out.
2) I know... but keep in mind... this is just fictional and also cartoon like, there it goes pretty quick than in real life, also this was one of my earlier works and also buttercup and trixie spend a lot of time together before falling in love
3) Well yeah... is more personal stuff... like by any other fan-slash-pairing too. And I know Buttercup never meet zim in ppgd, but my old work was based on ppgd and in my work, in a later time she meet zim.
Well yeah... like I said.. like every other fan-pairing maker, its more for personal stuff, and of course I going a little ooc her, special by trixie, but mostly I wanna show her as the nice girl from my fav. episode, instead of the spoiled bitch everyone hate.

I myself never considered the possibility of Buttercup as a lesbian (Bubbles as Bi, yes, but not BC as Les). If I had, I DEFINITELY would have made her the 'man' in the relationship, like you did.
My thought for a crossover mach for Buttercup was...Kid Trunks. What do you think? Both short fused, both pig-headed, both generally good at heart.
